Worth the risk

Describe a risk you took that you do not regret.

-A risk I took that I don’t regret is having gastric bypass surgery. I was slowly killing myself with food and no diet or way of eating was helping me. I didn’t make the decision lightly and still struggle with my weight, but my quality and quantity of life is better.

One night

Write about a time when you didn’t take action but wish you had. What would you do differently?

I was a videographer when I was in college. I would get paid to video speeches and banquets and things.

I was videoing a symposium one night. This local businessman received the award for Entrepreneur of the Year. He got up and said a few words before introducing his team. He said they had worked hard these past couple of years and sacrificed annual bonuses and raises to help build the business and he rewarded them with stock options.

He the said that because of that, they were all millionaires. The audience clapped. I looked over at the table, and I recognized someone.

She had been in a couple of my classes a few years ago. I had a huge crush on her. She was dating a guy off and on during the time, so I never made a move.

After the symposium was over, I went up and congratulated her on her success. I then told her what I just told you. She said that she knew and if I had asked her out, she probably would have said yes.

She was seeing someone new she said. I don’t regret the way my life turned out, but I regret not asking. I should have taken more risks.

Holiday

What is your favorite holiday? Why is it your favorite?

-My favorite holiday hands down is Christmas. The feeling of the season. The music. The movies and television specials. The memories. The decorations. The traditions. I have been blessed with many great Christmas seasons in my 45 years of life. Every year I look to add another one.

Camping

Have you ever been camping?

I have been camping many times. My wife got really into camping during the pandemic when it was an activity that would get you out of the house and away from people safely.

We went camping for our anniversary in 2020, and during the night, some raccoons stole some protein bars from our cooler. So if you see a buff raccoon, you know where it came from.
