-I turned 44 on Sunday. Age is just a number as the saying goes. I posted elsewhere that as the great archeologist/philosopher Henry Jones, Jr. once said, it’s not the years, it’s the mileage. I have been feeling my miles lately. I do love getting compliments on how I look. It gives me the boost to keep going and to get even healthier and being comfortable with who I am. This is why I am focusing on making this year the year of me. Personally, professionally, mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. You ain’t seen nothing yet.
-I know some people don’t like the word ain’t. My father uses it all the time, especially with the phrase, “I ain’t believing this.” When I was a substitute teacher living back home with my parents, I would substitute sometimes for this teacher who would make any student who said the word ain’t write 25 times that they wouldn’t use ain’t in her class because it was “low brow”. My dad said, “Screw that, I served my country!” That didn’t make much sense to me, but I rolled with it.
